The good times in Malaysia 2004 - 2007
Just a selection of pictures which have marked my stay in Malaysia… There are so many more that I’d like to put here… But I guess it’d be just too much!

At the Farmer’s house
It is my second time staying at a farmer house… Better than any other accommodations… Massive Chinese traditional beds, warmed up with fire… The residents also cooked for us around midnight…. Really awesome!

Me on my “crazy hose”
Yes this horse really took me out of the way on a small rocky path on a 45 degrees downhill… I thought I was going to die… I had to jump off the horse to regain control… Scary!

One of Beijing’s massive gate, lighted in the falling night.
This gate was standing near the bus station where we would take the bus to our destination. I took this picture on our way back as we reached Beijing early enough to enjoy the night fall. We also had more time just wandering around… This building lights were switching from orange to red every few minutes…

Locals watching a music “performance”
Lots of them were grouped around the musicians playing traditional Chinese drums. Some people were just dancing randomly… And these people were just sitting there watching from a distance. These people were so concentrated that they did not even notice me shooting pictures of them…
I was walking by the mountain on a rocky path and all these beautiful sceneries showed to me one after the other.
There was this couple on a lower ground by the river side… They stood there for a while until they went to play with the water a little… How peaceful and lovely!
There were these workers passing by … While I was hesitating to take a shot, they suddenly stopped by my side offering me a perfect opportunity….
And the nature… simply there in all its majesty!
That was a great day!

Hello world again!
After a long break in writing and even a closing for a few months, panekfr.com is back.
Indeed, after getting busy with my new work, I somehow figured out that I would not have anymore time to write anymore articles - I have been reading a few of them just yesterday night and I felt that they were really long … I also just purchased a new digital camera and am presently enjoying photography more and more… Ok ok I am getting to the point… Basically I thought I could show off my picture work instead of writing articles! That seemed to be ideal… Less time writing and as much expression … And more about me and what I was doing, which for my family is great… Cause for a reminder I am French and none of my family members can speak English (you may think “so typical” :-))… Sad to say but they can’t read this blog! So I put up a gallery and started to upload my pictures. Then I thought instead of starting with my day to day pictures, I should put up some pics from my past experiences in Finland and Malaysia… And then only put up some pictures about China… That is when I realized one problem “How to put my pictures and not be a victim of copyright infringement?” Big deal and I had no answers…. So I stopped for a while. And as you know it today, I never continued.
At the same time, while I was losing interest in putting up my most recent pictures, I realized that a photo gallery was not the best way to keep in touch with my people, with my community: no more comments… no more incoming and outgoing links… less reading online, etc. All in all it became plain and boring and not so interesting for me. Even my people would only come to see my pictures one time and then never come again. What was the point? I pondered on this for a while.
That’s when I decided to start a new website, a brand new one. Again I came up with a big idea… Developing a pure nice gallery in the same style of Ted Szukalski’s website or Kevin Han’s one using Ruby and such…
Again I pondered on the idea… But setting up the environment, getting started with a new programming language, etc. takes a long time. And it’s a long time again during which I don’t upload any content. No new pictures, no new articles, nothing… Just spending time on a technical thing which, who knows, might never come to life… - I often start new project and never finish them.. My bad!
Yesterday night, while I was working on setting up Apache and MySql (for Ruby), I got the idea to revive my blog locally… So in addition, I installed PHP and Wordpress… Then I restored my blog!
Revelation!
What a wonderful feeling that of finding my old blog with all my valuable writings up again! I was happy! It is at that moment that I realized that I had taken the wrong direction! This blog was all that I needed. I could continue to write article, keep in touch with my community, and still post my pictures… Maybe less pictures but still enough of them… Enough to give my people a good idea of what I am doing and also show off some of my art … If I may call it art :-p
I hope you guys will enjoy this website up again… And also the slight different direction that it is going to take. I will look for a design that is suitable for showing off pictures and will still try to write articles from time to time…
Take care all!
